It seems that U.K. hikers are wimps. They call for mountain rescue when they're simply "tired and fed up," and are causing a huge strain on non-wimpy volunteer wimp wranglers.
I am tired a fed up a large amount of the time, but I have never once called for a mountain rescue, even from my own home.
One quick-thinking couple even called for a helicopter to pick them up because they were late for a dinner party. Most crummy U.K. hikers are just doing your standard dumb stuff- not wearing proper shoes, not bringing nutritious food, hiking with their head up their arse, that kind of thing.
