Growing Problem: Bootleg Wine & Prostitution in Kuwait

You all know the Cyndi Lauper tune- well it turns out that Kuwaitis just want to have fun, too. I think we Americans cans empathize- prostitution is decidedly illegal in most parts of the country, and at one point in our history we too tried to cause people to stop drinking by force of law. However, the non-drinking nation thing didn't work out, and they haven't done a real hot job of getting rid of prostitution either. What I'm trying to say here, is that in the grand game of Kuwait vs. Basic Human Drives, I think that Kuwait has about 10 fingers and 8 toes stopping the leaks in the dam. 


Good luck, ol' Kuwaitis! If the world can't stop a Spice Girls reunion, you sure can't stop alcohol consumption and paid sex.

Officials in Kuwait have arrested 28 foreigners and seized 165 packets of homemade wine in their bid to crack down on prostitution and illegal wine.
